We have a phenomenal group of student ministry volunteer leaders who have dedicated themselves to the growth and well being of your student.  They pray for your student and spend time with them and develop a relationship with them in hopes that they can encourage them to grow and mature in their walk with the Lord.

Student Ministry Assistant

Lori Tennyson

Mom and "detail keeper" of TBC youth ministry by day....avid KC Chiefs fan by night!  Lori has been working for several years now as our administrative assistant and Jr. High Coordinator.  She does a fantastic job at making sure we get info out to you all, she keeps us on track and she loves hanging with the kids.

Youth Part-Time Interns

Leigh Wible

Nursing student by day...TBC's own Minnesota girl by night!  Leigh worked as a summer intern last year and is back living in Topeka this semester and ministering to the girls at full speed.  She has an incredible love for the Lord, seeing the lost come to the Lord and for discipling girls to a deeper walk with Him.

Mark Congdon

Teacher by day...killer crossword puzzler and halo champ by night!  Mark served as a summer intern back in his college days and joins us again.  He loves having lunch and hanging with the boys.

High School Leaders

Derek Durbin

Dentist by day... "wild and crazy buffalo wing eating contest winner" by night!   Derek is in charge of our teaching schedule and curriculum.  He loves studying the Word and passing it on to the kids.  He and his wife Jenny have been helping out in the high school department for around 2 years now.  They have 2 precious daughters who often entertain us on Wed. nights.

Jenny Durbin

Mother by day... former home coming queen by night!  Jenny loves hanging with the girls when she's not chasing her own around the house.

Jason Gossard

Insurance salesman by day... snow boarding king by night!  Jason loves the action and he loves to push the edge of the envelop.  We are thankful that he took hours of footage of our ski trip this year and put together a DVD for each of the kids.

Melissa Gossard

School counselor by day...newest member of the TBC synchonized swimming team by night!  Jason and Melissa just joined us last fall but we can't remember life without them!  Wherever the party is, they'll be right in the middle!  Jason and Melissa have a "jason jr."  who goes by the name of Ty, a cutie for sure.

Donnie Palmer

High school teacher by day... marathon runner by night!  Need a running coach?  Just give him a call, he loves it!

Shawna Palmer

Stay at home mom by day...."secret cowgirl wanna be" by night!  Shawna runs after 3 kids during the day but just loves to plan outings for the girls in her spare time.  Donnie and Shawna have been helping out for around two years and a half now.

Christy Spena

Interior decorator by day...."adventure woman" by night!  She'll try anything and probably already has!  Whether she's bombing down the ski slopes or shoveling dirt in Guatemala this girl is a ball of energy.  Christy is the matriarch of the family....she's been helping out with the youth for over 10 years now!!
